Startups Without Borders Summit returns in hybrid form, online and in person, confirming itself as a place of excellence for meetings and discussions between start-ups and investors, to give life to new planning horizons. The event, organized in collaboration with Meta, Undp Egypt, Edventures, Zoho and Auc V-Lab, takes place on 11 December in Rome at and then continues on 12 December, in Cairo in Egypt. Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are among the topics covered, but among other topics there is innovation, the digital transition, the gender gap, diversity, and much more.
This international event intercepts new ideas and innovations from all over the world to connect them with the economic world, to propose a moment of concrete encounter and comparison in which innovation can intercept supporters and investors. Over 100 speakers from 5 continents, more than 70 partners and the main players in the world of technology (Microsoft, Meta, Dell Technologies, SAP, Nokia and IBM) are some numbers of the event, included by Selected magazine among the 60 events not to be missed in the 2021 propose a moment and a place for real and concrete meeting and comparison in which innovation intercepts supporters and investors.
The innovation proposed by Startups Without Borders comes from the rich planning proposed by diaspora, refugees and migrants who, as in the whole Western world, who play a role fundamental in the development of the economy. This edition also hosts the Startup World Cup Europe-MENA Connect, a global competition that takes place in over 60 countries, in which the best entrepreneurs will fight for the chance to win 1 million dollars in the finals, in Silicon Valley.
The organization of Startups Without Borders, staged for the first time in Italy, was founded in 2018 in Cairo, with several hubs across European and Middle Eastern countries, with the aim of building an ecosystem of migrant startups, changing existing perceptions about refugees and migrants, consolidating a growing entrepreneurial trend and uniting entrepreneurs and migrants by giving them an opportunity for resources and logistical support to grow their businesses, wherever they are.
