In San Francisco, a couple got married exchanging wedding rings in form of NFT. The news was reported on Reddit.
Practically, during the celebration, instead of the physical exchange of the rings, a transaction took place on the blockchain via the smartphones of the spouses. The token that identifies the wedding rings was called “Tabaat”, a Hebrew term that means ‘ring’, and it is unique, no more can be made.
The couple also included a digital animation created by artist Carl Johan Hasselrot.
On Twitter Rebecca Rose, the bride, wrote that the virtual rings can be seen on the blockchain “as proof of mutual commitment”.
