From 7 to 9 October, ‘Alassio GameChain City’ will take place in Italy, an event organized by Sport Digital House and the Municipality of Alassio, which aims to make the Ligurian city the first urban metaverse experiment. The event was presented on Tuesday 14 June with the Mayor of Alassio Marco Melgrati and the representatives of the Italian Esports Observatory.
“Alassio GameChain City was born from the ambition to take gaming and blockchain to the next level, making them themes capable of developing a real economy in the territories”. says Luigi Caputo CEO Sport Digital House and co-founder of the Italian Esports Observatory “We have created a concept that will live within the city according to the values of the democratic nature of knowledge and the urban metaverse, the first experiment in Italy in this sense”.
For the three days of convention, the city of Alassio will host events, speeches, digital activities and networking meetings in its characteristic historic center to make knowledge on gaming and blockchain accessible to all, but also NFT, Esports, metaverse and crytpo. The center of Alassio will be divided into real spaces: each company, startup or institution will be able to take over a street or a neighborhood and organize activities in it. Alassio Gamechain City thus becomes the first urban metaverse experiment.
“We want to become the destination that welcomes the future”. said the Mayor of Alassio, Marco Melgrati, who, referring to gaming, adds that “anyone who reduces everything to a game is wrong, forgetting how innovation allows to break down borders and broaden horizons. New applications are just that and Alassio, with the GameChain City event, is officially a candidate for the Italian capital of innovation “.
During the summer, the program will be perfected, activities, masters, itineraries within the city will be added and the number of companies that will join the project will be expanded.
